Environment As The Third Teacher

‘The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences’- Loris Malaguzzi

At Ekam Early Learning Centre, the space that surrounds our children plays a vital role in their learning. Imagine a campus which ignites the senses and the natural curiosity of children, a place where innovation, creativity and learning flourish, a community, which works together to make learning enjoyable and memorable. Children learn by doing, you can have meaningful discussions when they are completing a task. When they are engaged in learning through play, experiencing their growth as a whole person and feeling the joy of being part of a vibrant community of learners is the learning experience at Ekam Early Learning Centre! We are a Reggio-inspired school, and the environment acts as a third teacher, along with adults and peers being their first and the second teacher.

Our Reggio-inspired learning spaces at Ekam make the environment very stimulating, and every element in the school is crafted to enhance the social, emotional, cognitive, creative and physical development of a child. Through the environment that we have created at school, we aim is to bring more joy to education and ignite children’s imaginations so that they are stimulated to explore, discover and learn, and develop a sincere desire for learning.

With outdoor and indoor spaces blending together very seamlessly, our focus is to bring the children in close proximity to nature and our curriculum and learning engagements are designed to support the same. The campus uses natural and eco-friendly materials to learn and teach and avoids the use of any resources which are not environmentally safe.

Our organic terrace garden also teaches children how to nurture and take care of mother nature. It not only develops their excellent motor skills and engage all of their senses, but also teaches them the value of responsibility, patience and helps them to learn how to plan and organise.

We would love to meet you and share with you the Ekam Early Learning experience. Please feel free to reach out to us to know more about us!
